In 2015 the City of Leipzig is celebrating a 1000 anniversary: The first documented mentioning of as “urbe lipzi” was in 1015.


Leipzig is also known as the City of Music, the City of Trade, City of Books, .. and last but not least as University Town. Appr. 50,000 students study at the Alma Mater Lipsiensis.



















While you are here you might enjoy a concert of the famous ‘Thomas Chorus’ or of the world-class Gewandhaus Orchestra and convince yourself of extraordinary performance.


As a centre of modern fine arts Leipzig has even made it to no. 10 of the New York's Times "31 Places to Go in 2010". If you'll find the time check out the Old Cotton Mill.
